Volunteering with the League of Jewish Women
Almost all of our members volunteer in some capacity in their local communities on behalf of the League of Jewish Women. We can help you to find volunteering opportunities that suit your lifestyle and interests, so if you know what you would like to do, contact us now for a chat.
Not sure where your talents lie? Here’s a useful checklist to ask yourself:
- What time commitment can I make? We have regular monthly or weekly opportunities as well as one-off requests for help.
- Would I like to work with children, older people, people with health or special needs, or the general public? Perhaps you would prefer an office environment?
- Am I able to make a short-term or long-term commitment?
- Do I prefer working in a team or on my own?
Some volunteering opportunities involve working with vulnerable groups of people, such as children or people with disabilities. If you are interested in this type of volunteering, we can arrange for you to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (formerly known as a CRB). Read more information about DBS here: https://www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check/overview.
If you are interested in volunteering, contact us and we can advise on current opportunities in your area.
